Annals of Laparoscopic and Endoscopic Surgery will have an impact factor in 2023!

Great news!

According to Web of Science, Clarivate Analytics, Annals of Laparoscopic and Endoscopic Surgery (ALES) will have an impact factor in 2023!

This is the result of long years of intensive work, solid contributions, and patience.

The staff of ALES has been hard at work ever since the creation in 2016. ALES, an open access, peer-reviewed journal, is indexed by Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI) since 2018. Strong support from our Publisher—AME Publishing Company (https://www.amegroups.com/), established in 2009, was instrumental to the success. The peer review process has taken time to set up, but after adjustments and renewal of the list of reviewers, is working well, and improving as we go along.

The number of contributions to the journal is continuously on the rise. Contributions to the journal have come from a wide range of countries with more than one-third from the USA and 17% from Italy. More than two-thirds (68%) were review articles. This is a sign of a healthy and educative journal.

Patience has paid off! After 7 years of hard work and persistence, ALES is on its upward way to become a major journal in the wide array of surgical periodicals in the field. Bravo to the staff, the publishers, bravo to the authors of the contributions, and waiting, with patience, for more achievements to come.
