Update in Inguinal Hernia Surgery

Annals of Laparoscopic and Endoscopic Surgery (ALES), is dedicating this special issue to “Update in Inguinal Hernia Surgery”, with outstanding experts contributing with their experience and review of the latest news from scientific literature.

Hernia Surgery is one of the most common surgical procedures worldwide and has experienced important changes in the last two decades in term of mesh technologies and surgical approaches, so this Update will provide a platform to the all the surgeons and medical professionals for a full immersion in the latest news in inguinal hernia surgery.

In this special issue, the contributors will focus on the latest update on mesh and the new proposed classification, the technical challenges of the primary and recurrent hernia repair, a review of the most popular open repair and the important role of laparoscopic in emergency cases as powerful diagnostic tools.

I am sure that all the readers will appreciate the contents of each article and we should thank you all the worldwide expert teams and authors for their excellent contributions.
