Dr. Emanuele Lo Menzo is a graduate of the University of Catania Medical School in Italy, where he also attained his Ph.D. in Clinical Microbiology. He completed his General Surgery training at Thomas Jefferson University and Lankenau Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He then completed a Fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Bariatric surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Florida.
Dr. Lo Menzo started his professional career as an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Soon he was promoted as Chief of General Surgery at the Miami Department of Veterans Affairs. After his transfer to the University of Maryland School of Medicine he was promoted to Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery.
After his return to Cleveland Clinic Florida he became Director for Clinical Research at this Institution and also Associate Program Director of General Surgery Residency and Director of the Clinical Clerkship for Medical Students.
Dr. Lo Menzo areas of clinical interest include minimally invasive and Bariatric Surgery, surgery of the esophagus and stomach and Abdominal wall hernias.
He is author or co-author of 85 original articles, 180 Abstracts, and 16 book chapters.
