D. Han, graduated from Seoul National University College of Medicine in 1984, and finished internship and residency of department of Surgery at Seoul National University Hospital in 1989, is a Full time Professor of Seoul National University, College of Medicine and his present position is the Professor of Department of Surgery. The field of interest is hepatobiliary surgery and laparoscopic surgery. Dr. Han is the world first performed laparoscopic right posterior sectionectomy, central bisectionectomy for hepatocellular carcinoma by laparoscopy. He has also performed laparoscopic liver resection in pediatric patient and succeeded in total laparoscopic right side donor hepatectomy as world-first. Former Chairman of Board of Director of Korean Society of Surgical Oncology, president of Korean Society of Surgical Metabolism and Nutrition and president of Korean Study Group of Pancreatic Surgery, Dr. Han is the current president of Korean Study Group of Laparoscopic Liver Surgery Korean Society of Traumatology, and Chairman of Board of Director of Korean Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons. Dr. Han plays an important role in many societies. He was invited as a speaker in many international meeting including ACS(American College of Surgeons), SSAT(Society of Surgery of the Alimentary Tract), SAGES(Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons), and SSO(Society of Surgical Oncology) and etc. Currently he’s an Associate Editor, Hepatogastroenterology, Editor of Journal of Hepatobiliary Pancreatic Science, Journal of Surgical Oncology, World Journal of Gastroenterology, and Scientific Advisory Board (Asian Pacific Region) of Annals of Surgical Oncology.
