Dr. Hong-Jin Kim is Professor and Chairman of the Department of HBP Surgery and Liver Transplantation of the Yeungnam University Hospital in Daegu, Korea. He was a president of Korean HBP Surgical Society. He is a member of executive committee of Asia-Pacific HBP surgical association. He was a vice-president of IASGO and APASL. He was a vice-congress president of IHPBA2014 Seoul. He is a member of scientific committee of IHPBA. He is a congress president for 2015 Asia-Pacific Association for Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons, Daegu, Korea. Dr. Kim is now the president of Korean association of Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgery. He is an honorary member of Japanese HBP Surgery Association. He is honorary chairman of BIT’s 8th Annual World Cancer Congress 2015. Professor Kim has been actively involved in experimental researches for liver regeneration using liver mitochondria, ischemia-reperfusion injury, and artificial liver during 1980’s in Kyoto University under the professor K Ozawa. He had also joined to living donor liver transplantation program in Kyoto University. His main interesting clinical research is focusing on laparoscopic and open liver surgery. He has published 168 peer-reviewed articles. He has been invited as an invited speaker to international congress more than 100 times. He has also written 6 books. He was an associated editor for Journal of Hepato-Gastroenterology. He is also a member of editorial board of J of Clinical Nutrition, Asian J of Endoscopic Surgery, J of Hepato–Biliary-Pancreatic Sciences, Asian J of Surgery, and Frontiers of Medicine.
