abstract = {Is it inevitable that a parastomal hernia (PSH) will result when surgical stomas are created? Despite living in a time where medical technology is more advanced, PSHs appear to be more frequently encountered, along with their associated complications. At the same time, advances in the diagnosis and treatment of the condition have not yet brought clarity, and the techniques involved lack standardization. The repair of hernia can be challenging, as repairing the continuity of abdominal defect while iatrogenic defect for opening of stoma need to restore in proper way to preserve its function. The latest techniques have failed to eliminate the recurrent. Accordingly, this paper will define the PSH and discuss the problems associated with the condition and the diagnostic method. The most recent methods of PSH repair will be described, which involve mesh reinforcements and a procedure which offers the advantage of minimally invasive approach which in turn reduces the risk of complications and recurrence. In addition, the techniques used in stoma creation should be developed to lower the incidence of PSH.},
