Laparoscopic appendectomy: comparison between different techniques for the closure of the appendicular stump
Abstract
Laparoscopic appendectomy is now a widely accepted surgical approach to acute appendicitis. Compared to the open approach, laparoscopy confers numerous advantages, such as less postoperative pain, shorter hospital stay, faster recovery and lower wound infection rates.
